I couldn’t get it out of my mind for days after. The future Bay Area, California setting was so lush and beautiful. Slave to Sensation was a breathtaking introduction to the rich world of the Psy and Changelings. So much to play with in the magic available to each race, I can’t wait to experience more.
The Psy were so fascinating, adding that clinical, unfeeling nature to the warmth of shifters. The Changelings are shifters, and I loved that the initial focus was on a feline pack instead of lupine. The story introduces us to a vast world of humans, Psy and Changelings. Sashca has spent her whole life trying to mold herself to meet Psy expectations and what starts as a business deal with the Changeling Alpha builds to make Sascha question everything she’s known. I enjoyed the play on these tropes in that the character’s aren’t as opposite as they think, diving in and dealing more with the nature of the Psy and expectations from the race. Opposites attract in this romance focused on the ‘unfeeling’ Psy and the hot blooded shifter. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passionand that the animal in him is fascinated by her. " I wish there were half stars cause I'd give it 3 1/2. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society.
